KPIX CBS5 TV Reports: San Carlos May Close Parks and Youth Center KPIX CBS-5 Video: Budget May Force San Carlos To Close 5 Parks & Youth Center
Len Ramirez from KPIX, CBS, Channel 5 TV reports that the City of San Carlos Parks and Recreation Department is proposing the closure of 5 parks as well as the closure of the San Carlos Youth Center for 10 months each year.  The proposed moves will help the City address a $3.6 Million General Fund Budget deficit. 

In this video, Ramirez interviews Parks and Recreation Director Doug Long and several San Carlos residents about their views on the proposal heading to the Parks and Recreation Commission on February 3rd and then to the full City Council in late March or early April.

Mayor Randy Royce 2010 State of the City Address - "Why Are The Crows Cawing?"
Each year, the Mayor of San Carlos delivers the State of the City address. The event, sponsored by the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce, is designed to give the Mayor a chance to talk to the community about his vision for San Carlos in the coming year.

This year's State of the City Address entitled "Why Are The Crows Cawing?"  by Randy Royce, Mayor of San Carlos will be held on Wednesday, February 17th from 7:45 am to 9:00 am at the Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Road, San Carlos.  Price is $5 and includes a continental breakfast. RSVP by Friday, February 12, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

As we end another year in San Carlos, it's time to review the major achievements and key projects that the City experienced during 2009. Here are some of this year's highlights:

 

1.  San Carlos General Plan: 2030 Approved

After an extensive 2 year process involving several community meetings and review by the 21-member citizens General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) and the Planning Commission, the City's new San Carlos General Plan: 2030 was approved by the City Council in October.
