Burton Park Playground Project - Opening Later This Month Construction of the new Burton Park playgrounds and water spray feature is almost complete. The new landscaping vegetation, lawn and trees have been installed and we have begun the maintenance period. This allows for adequate root growth and will enable quicker recovery to any future damage.
Assuming everything proceeds on schedule we are hoping to open the playground before the end of October and are planning a ribbon cutting ceremony. We look forward to children and parents alike enjoying the new playground area.
Citywide Garage Sale & Passport Services Have Been Cancelled
The Annual Citywide Garage Sale and Passport Services at City Hall have been cancelled. Their cancellation is due to the loss of a position in the City Clerk Department that has not been refilled due to the City's General Fund Budget problems. The City may revisit these services in the future once voters have an opportunity to consider a proposed General Fund Revenue Measure in November 2009.
