Program Description

The Place for Recreation… Resources… Relationships. The San Carlos Adult Community Center is established as a day use recreation center for community members, ages 50 and over. The Center offers a variety of programs and services designed to promote health and wellness, enhance independence, promote lifelong learning and quality of life as well as strengthen community image and sense of place for senior community members.

Adult Community Center Hours

Open Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

Assist with production of a lunch program that serves 50-100 seniors:

  • Prepare jello / salads
  • Serve desserts
  • Wash produce
  • Set tables
  • Assist with pots and pans
  • Attend volunteer meetings as scheduled

Qualifications

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Possess good attitude
  • Be a team player
  • Be willing to be trained in food procedures

Time Commitment

  • 2-4 hour shift per week; minimum 3-month commitment:
  • Shifts: Mondays or Wednesdays, 7:00 am - 1:00 pm or 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

Training Provided

Training provided includes:

  • Job orientation and training will be provided by Center staff
  • Volunteer meeting held at lease once each year
