Burton Park Playground Survey Results
In August and September 2006, the City of San Carlos and the San Carlos-Belmont Mother’s Club hosted an online survey to gather input from San Carlos Parents and Community Members regarding community priorities and desired features for a playground. Over 500 responses were received.
83% of the respondents rated shade as “very important” or “critical”.
58% of respondents rated poured in place rubber surfacing as “very important” or “critical”
Respondents rated the following features as top priorities for the Tot Lot:
Swings (66%)
Slides (57%)
Imaginative Play Area
Sand Play
Sand & Water Play
Respondents rated the following features as top priorities for the Older Kids Play Area:
Swings (52%)
Slides (46%)
Climbing Wall (43%)
Water Spray Park (40%)
Next Steps
The City has contracted with MIG for developing design plans for the playground areas. The design phase will continue to include community input. We are planning for a community meeting to review draft designs during the week of March 12, 2007.
