On Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 6:41 p.m. a Sheriff's Deputy on routine patrol in the 2100 block of Eaton Avenue, saw a subject riding a motorcycle, without wearing a required helmet.  The Deputy immediately recognized the subject as Aaron Tadday, 43 years old.  Tadday was recently arrested by Sheriff’s Detectives, for a string of residential burglaries throughout San Carlos and Redwood City.  Tadday was out of custody on bail, and awaiting trial for those felony crimes.

The Deputy turned his patrol vehicle around and attempted to catch up to the motorcycle to affect an enforcement stop.  The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren, but Tadday failed to yield to the Deputy.  Tadday continued to flee eastbound, in the 200 block of Kelton Avenue.  The Deputy observed Tadday utilize the sidewalk, in an effort to evade capture.  Tadday was seen throwing an object underneath a parked vehicle and then accelerate to a speed of 40 MPH.

Before the Deputy could call for assistance, Tadday stopped his motorcycle in the driveway of his residence, located at 615 Park Avenue.  The Deputy was forced to physically remove Tadday from his motorcycle, at which point Tadday began to violently resist arrest.

Emergency assistance was requested and numerous Sheriff’s Deputies from San Carlos and throughout the South County region responded to assist.

Arriving Deputies searched the area of Kelton Avenue and Pearl Avenue and recovered the object that Tadday had thrown.  The object was identified as a glass smoking pipe, commonly used to smoke illegal drugs.

Ultimately, Tadday was arrested and charged with the following new offenses: Felony Evading, Commission of a Felony While on Bail, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Reckless Driving, Destruction of Evidence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest.  Tadday was transported and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.

Additionally, while Deputies were completing their investigation, the suspect’s father, Douglass Duke Tadday, 69 years old and also a resident of 615 Park Avenue, was arrested for Interfering with a Peace Officer While in the Performance of His or Her Duties.  Douglass Tadday was also transported and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
