Parolee Arrested for Burglary & Conspiracy in Liquor Theft
Lucky’s Supermarket, 1133 Old County Road
Case # 12-8298

On November 30, 2012 at approximately 6:41 p.m. the adult Suspect George Bjurberg and a Juvenile co-conspirator walked into Lucky’s located at 1133 Old County Road in San Carlos. The two Suspects walked directly into the liquor aisle where the Bjurberg began stuffing alcohol bottles into the pockets of his trench coat while the Juvenile Suspect stood watch.

After concealing the alcohol bottles the Suspects walked directly toward the exit doors. The alert Lucky’s staff noticed alcohol bottles protruding from Bjurberg’s trench coat pockets and ordered him to stop. Bjurberg and the Juvenile co-conspirator fled the store and were seen leaving the scene in a red Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on Howard Avenue.

San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies were immediately dispatched to the scene and within moments located the vehicle on Lenolt Avenue in Redwood City. Both Suspects were contacted in the vehicle and admitted their role in the theft.

In addition to committing this theft, Bjurberg was also found to be on California Department of Corrections (CDC) Parole for a violent felony. Bjurberg was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for burglary, conspiracy and a parole violation. The Juvenile Suspect was booked into Youth Services Center for conspiracy to commit burglary.
