San Carlos, CA - March 6, 2013 - On Wednesday, March 6, 6:30 p.m. Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Woodland on a report of a suspicious person who was contacting residents. He was described as an Hispanic male, early 30's, 6'0" and heavy set. Clothing described as a red ball cap, possibly a Mexican flag insignia and a black or dark colored sweat suit.

This subject told a resident he was with the Sheriff's Office and displayed some type of badge, in his wallet, and said he was meeting neighbors as he recently moved to an unknown location on Laurel Street. Further, he was carrying candy canes in his hand. No Sheriff's Office personnel member was going door to door during that time in the area.

The entire incident was deemed suspicious and is currently being investigated by Sheriff's Deputies. The subject was last seen walking south on Cedar, from Greenwood.

An extensive area check was conducted, however the subject was not located. Any resident who encounters anything suspicious or similar in nature is urged to call the Sheriff's Office at (650) 802-4321.
