SAN CARLOS, CA, April 28 , 2014 – Construction of the new Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) San Carlos Campus, located on the east side of Industrial Road north of the Holly Street intersection, is nearing completion. As a requirement for the construction of the new facility, and to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic, four new traffic signals have been installed on Industrial Road. Traffic loop detectors, designated turn lanes, a new crosswalk and median islands have also been added.
The signals have been installed to ease traffic in the area and create a protected route for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists accessing the new facility. They will be initially set to flashing red for approximately two weeks to allow traffic to adjust to the change. It is anticipated that the signals will become fully active toward the middle of May.
The PAMF San Carlos Center is located on an 18.1 acre site at 301 Industrial Road and is expected to open in late 2014.
