SAN CARLOS, CA, October 10, 2013 – At its Special Meeting of October 9, 2013,  the San Carlos City Council voted unanimously to end the State of Emergency declared on October 4th in response to a series of internal emails from PG&E regarding the condition of line 147 which carries natural gas through the City of San Carlos, in the aftermath of a leak repair.

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has ordered that PG&E keep the pipeline shutdown until CPUC staff can conduct an investigation to verify the safety of the utilities pipeline, in addition to ordering PG&E to submit an updated Safety Certification for line 147 by October 11, 2013. A pre-hearing conference has been set for October 21, 2013 at the CPUC Headquarters in San Francisco.

City staff and officials will be meeting with the CPUC at their Headquarters in San Francisco at noon today to discuss questions and concerns regarding line 147, and to gain a better understanding as to the process for moving forward with CPUC's the investigation.
