| |  DepartmentsAlarm Permit ApplicationAlarm System Rules Permits are required for all alarms installed in San Carlos. An annual fee is required with this application (non-transferable). Permits shall be renewed annually by the resident or business owner (Section 8.16.020, San Carlos Municipal Code). A courtesy invoice will be sent, but responsibility of renewal remains with the permit owner.
False alarms in excess of one (1) per fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will cause a service fee to be charged for the emergency response (8.16.070, San Carlos Municipal Code).
No permit shall be in any manner transferred or assigned (8.16.040, San Carlos Municipal Code).
In the event that any alarm system activates more than twelve (12) false alarms within any one-year period, such alarm system shall be suspended and shall be deactivated until written verification by the alarm company establishes that the problem causing the false alarm has been corrected (8.16.170, San Carlos Municipal Code).
