The Residential Design Review Committee (RDRC) has one (1) vacant seat due to the unscheduled departure of a commissioner. The appointment will fulfill the remainder of the seat’s unexpired term ending June 30, 2020.
If you are a San Carlos resident in the architect or design profession and interested in serving on this committee, applications are being accepted at this time. Meeting Role and Schedule
The Residential Design Review Committee (RDRC) assures that the architecture and general appearance of new residential construction and some additions are in keeping with the character of the surrounding neighborhood.
RDRC is comprised of three members: a Planning Commissioner appointed by the Planning Commission; a citizen volunteer appointed by the City Council; and an architect or design professional appointed by the City Council.
This Committee meets the first and third Mondays of the month, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall – 600 Elm Street, San Carlos, CA 94070.

Applying for the Residential Design Review Committee The filing period will remain open until filled.
Please download and complete the below application form and supplemental questionnaire. If you would like to have it mailed to you, please call the City Clerk’s Office at (650) 802-4222. Applications are also available for pick-up at the City Clerk’s office on the 2nd floor at City Hall - 600 Elm Street, San Carlos.
The City Clerk will contact qualified candidates within two business days of receipt of the application to schedule a time to meet with City staff and interview with the City Council.
