| |  DepartmentsHighlands Park Tree Selection - Survey ResultsThank you to everyone who responded to the Highlands Park Tree Selection Survey that was conducted October 6 - 25, 2006. Clearly, the Acer rubrum, Red maple was the favorite. The Parks & Recreation Department will order trees in the largest size possible. We anticipate delivery and planting by Thanksgiving. 
Acer Rubrum - Red Maple Brings color to the landscape year-round, green stems turn red in winter, new leaves red-tinged turning to green, Grows to 40-60’ tall X 40’ wide. Background Recently six Aleppo Pine trees were removed by the entrance to Highlands Park due to safety concerns. The red maple trees will replace the removed trees.
