Grand Opening of the Newly Renovated Playground - Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00 am!
The improvement project includes a complete renovation of both the tot play area at the park in addition to the play area for ages 5 to 12, and the addition of a new splash pad water feature. The new structure has a nature look and feel, with more climbing pieces, swings, slides, and imaginative play features than the earlier equipment.
This neighborhood park gets a variety of uses throughout the year. Little League baseball uses the field area in the spring, and A.Y.S.O. makes use of the entire turf area in the fall. In addition, residents utilize the turf, basketball court and the children's play area regularly, as this is the only City park east of El Camino Real. The Smart Tots/Laureola Cottage Kids Program is the main tenant of the recreation building year-round, but the building is also used for other special interest classes and community groups.
