Downtown Employee Parking Permits
Downtown Employee Parking Facts:
This program provides parking spaces for employers and employees of businesses located in the San Carlos Downtown area, specifically from San Carlos Avenue to Brittan on Laurel Street and from El Camino Real to Walnut Street. There are a total of 91 designated parking spaces throughout the plaza lots. Please be advised that the purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space. The parking permits are valid in spaces specifically designated for permit parking in each of the three lots:
Permit parking is allowed Monday through Saturday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, excluding holidays. Permits are issued by the City of San Carlos, Department of Public Works on a biannual basis, from April-September and October-March. The Employee Parking Permit fee is $30 per permit. It is encouraged that permit holders to sign up for eNotify to ensure they receive notification of impending permit expiration dates and open application periods for the proximal six-month period.

As of August 26, 2015, proof of employment at a downtown San Carlos business is mandatory. Please bring in a pay stub or signed letter from your supervisor to verify employment status. For convenience, a signed verification letter listing all employees at a business wishing to purchase parking permits can be submitted.

Payments may be made with Visa, MasterCard, check (made out to the City of San Carlos), or cash (exact amount only--the Public Works Department does not issue change).
Incomplete applications will not be processed and will cause a delay.
