Draft Elements- Follow Progress of Goals, Policies, and Actions of Each General Plan Section
Most of the “Elements” of the City’s General Plan are being updated as part of the new General Plan. Land Use, Environmental Management, Parks and Recreation, Noise, Seismic Safety, Community Safety, and Housing are all being updated or added. The Circulation section was fairly recently modified and will not be substantially altered during this General Plan update.
For over a year, the General Plan Advisory Committee has been laying the groundwork for the General Plan- identifying issues, drafting a vision, selecting study areas, drafting land use alternatives, framing policy questions, gathering expert opinion, and refining a preferred land use alternative. GPAC is now drafting the individual “sections” of the General Plan, one by one.
