Background

In December 2004, the Belmont Fire Protection District sent a letter to the City of San Carlos that dissolved the South County Fire Authority effective June 30, 2006. Since that time, Assistant City Manager Brian Moura and Fire Chief Chuc Lowden have been working with a City Council Committee (Council Members Don Eaton and Mike King) on a review of proposals from 4 neighboring Fire Agencies to provide Fire Service to San Carlos residents.
