No Fireworks in San Carlos

The Danger of Fireworks

Across the United States each year, millions of dollars in property burn, and thousands of lives are affected by fireworks related accidents. The incidence of fireworks related property loss and injuries has always been a concern to this community.

The potential for a devastation wildland-urban fire is extremely high each summer. The use of fireworks compounded the fire hazard danger. With these recognized dangers, South County Fire has aggressively reduced the fireworks related property losses and personal injuries.

No Fireworks In San Carlos

In January 1982, the City of San Carlos banned all fireworks including the "Safe and Sane," type of fireworks. The decision to ban fireworks was a result of the community becoming increasingly concerned with the numerous fires that were directly caused by fireworks.

The implementation of the fireworks ordinance caused an immediate 97% reduction in all fireworks related fires and injuries.

So, Remember...

  • Fireworks have burned citizens and property in San Carlos.
  • The No Fireworks ordinance will be strictly enforced.
  • Fireworks are illegal in San Carlos, including so-called "safe and sane" fireworks.
  • Fireworks users may be cited.
  • Fireworks will be confiscated and person possessing same will be cited.
