The Center for Independence of the Disabled (CID) is dedicated to assisting the community’s physically and mentally challenged in living independent lives. CID offers programs geared toward making the lives of the disabled easier. Among these are advocacy, information and referral services. Voice: (650) 595-0783 TDD:(650) 595-0743 Housing Accessibility Modification (HAM)Housing Accessibility Modification (HAM)- CID’s HAM program provides grants to low income disabled individuals and families for retrofitting their homes in order to make them accessible (handrails, ramps, etc.). This allows the client to remain in their current residence, thereby avoiding possible subsidies, homelessness or dislocation.
