Information Systems

The Information Systems Department is responsible for all of the City's Information Technology and Telecommunications systems. This includes the local area network at City Hall and other City buildings, wide area network building to building communications, the City Phone System, operating the City's application servers, project management, technology purchasing and project implementation assistance. The department also is responsible for the City's Geographic Information System (GIS), the City's Internet Web Site, the Intranet Website, San Carlos TV channel 27, and end user PC support.

This unit of the Administrative Services Department consists of a full time Information Technology Manager, 3 full time Systems Analysts in the following areas; Support, GIS and Web management. IT also uses part-time consulting staff for backup support and specialized services.

Information Technology’s mission is to deliver, optimize, coordinate, secure and deploy the City of San Carlos’ communications and information technology resources to support the effective delivery of public services. Our service delivery objective is to provide the City of San Carlos with high-quality, cost effective and innovative services to better enable staff to work not only easier, but smarter.
