Athletic Fields Update - September 14, 2007

At the July 23 City Council meeting Council directed staff to pursue installing synthetic turf at Heather School athletic field. The first step is to finalize an agreement with the School District. A proposed draft agreement has been submitted to the School Board. If an agreement is finalized the next step will be to do some level of environmental review and then return to Council with a recommendation for project approval reflective of the environmental review. We have no official response from the School District but are working to schedule a "2 + 2" meeting. This is a meeting of 2 School Board and 2 City Councilmembers.
