Recommendation:

It is recommended that the City Council authorize issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for design and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for installation of a natural grass or an all weather synthetic turf athletic field at HeatherSchool.

Fiscal Implementations:

No fiscal impact to issue the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Background:

On October 23, 2006 the City Council authorized staff to develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) that would provide a plan/design/construction cost-benefit analysis for natural turf and all-weather synthetic turf at HeatherSchool athletic field.

Alternatives:

The alternatives available to the City Council include:

1. Authorize issuance of a Request For Proposals (RFP) for design and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for installation of a natural grass or an all weather synthetic turf athletic field at Heather School, or -

2. Do not authorize issuance of a Request For Proposals (RFP) for design and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for installation of a natural grass or an all weather synthetic turf athletic field at Heather School, or -

3. Provide staff with alternative direction.
