Status of Heather School & Highlands Park Synthetic Turf Proposals
April 2004 Meeting of Parks & Recreation Commission The proposal for synthetic turf installation at Highlands Park Athletic Field and synthetic turf installation with ball field lights at Heather School Athletic Field was considered by the Parks & Recreation Commission at their regular meeting of April 7, 2004.
The Parks and Recreation Commission voted 3-2 to recommend installation of synthetic turf with ball field lighting at Heather School Athletic Field.
The Commission also recommended further study of synthetic turf at Highlands Park. This will be placed on a future agenda of the Parks & Recreation Commission.
Staff supports the Parks and Recreation Commission recommendations and will be taking the commission's recommendation on the installation of Synthetic Turf at Heather School to the City Council at a future date.
City Council Review of Heather School Synthetic Turf Proposal - Postponed Discussion of the proposal to install Synthetic Turf and Athletic Field Lights at Heather School originally scheduled for the April 26th City Council Meeting has been postponed to a later date. The postponement will provide the City staff with time to give the matter additional review and study prior to presentation to the City Council. Meeting Schedules Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
