Citizens Advisory Committee for Evaluation of Athletic Field Use Needs and Possible Solutions

The City Council, at the meeting on Monday, December 13th, approved the proposal from staff on the formation of a Citizens Advisory Committee for Evaluation of Athletic Field Use Needs and Possible Solutions.

Applications for the Citizens Advisory Committee were solicited from a broad cross section of the community with representation from park neighbors, school representatives, sports user groups and members at large. City staff will serve only in a technical advisory role. The City Council interviewed applicants and appointments were made to the committee. See below for Structure and Membership of the Committee.

Role of the Committee and Next Steps
The committee will prepare recommendation(s) within a three to six month period from their first meeting date of March 24, 2005. Their recommendation(s) will then be presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission for review and recommendations. The Committee will consider Commission input and then present their final recommendation to the City Council.
