The Parks and Recreation Foundation of San Carlos is in need of an effective grant writer.The qualified applicant is experienced in the grant writing process, having written grants that have funded. Experience is desired in seeking funding from foundations, corporations, State, Federal and private sources. Additionally, the applicant should be experienced in the preparation and submission of letters of inquiry and proposals, research and writing clear, detailed and focused grant proposals, public/non-profit sector collaboration, able to handle grant administration and reporting, understands the audit process, and ensures that no important steps are missed in writing a successful application.

The Parks and Recreation Foundation was established to secure funding for Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, and services benefiting our community. San Carlos citizens have been outspoken in their request for additional Parks and Recreation opportunities including new Burton Park playground equipment; a dog park; more field space; more walking trails; a performing arts center; more tennis courts; a swimming pool; and additional programs for persons with special needs.

An Alternative Funding Program was created to secure private sector funding from community members, local businesses, corporations, and charitable foundations. This approach is modeled after universities and hospitals that, for decades, have targeted the private sector as a major source of funding. The Parks and Recreation Foundation and its Trustees lead this effort, serving as the vehicle for acceptance of private donations and endowments given specifically for San CarlosParks and Recreation opportunities. The Foundation is an independent, community organization with sole discretion of how their funds are spent and will present the community with a variety of funding and donation options.
