The Parks and Recreation Foundation was established to secure funding for Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, and services benefiting our community.  San Carlos citizens have been outspoken in their request for additional Parks and Recreation opportunities including new Burton Park playground equipment; a dog park; more field space; more walking trails; a performing arts center; more tennis courts; a swimming pool; and additional programs for persons with special needs.

An Alternative Funding Program was created to secure private sector funding from community members, local businesses, corporations, and charitable foundations. This approach is modeled after universities and hospitals that, for decades, have targeted the private sector as a major source of funding.The Parks and Recreation Foundation and its Trustees lead this effort, serving as the vehicle for acceptance of private donations and endowments given specifically for San CarlosParks and Recreation opportunities. The Foundation is an independent, community organization with sole discretion of how their funds are spent and will present the community with a variety of funding and donation options.
