These Design Guidelines, developed between July 2000 and February 2001, are the outgrowth of a seven-month community process. They were developed to reflect the vision of the citizens, as expressed through their participation at workshops and through submitted written comments.
The Guidelines include general development guidelines for the study area and site-specific guidelines for a few conceptual or current development projects. They outline guidelines to guide developers towards design responses that meet the community's vision and identify the project approval process for projects.
At the February 8 workshop, Tom Richman & Associates presented the second draft of the Urban Design Guidelines. These Guidelines may be modified to incorporate further community comment prior to submittal to the Planning Commission and City Council. A copy of that draft can be downloaded in PDF format.
