Prepare Supplies and Resources

In addition to Emergency Preparedness at City Hall, the City of San Carlos urges all residents and businesses to prepare enough disaster supplies for at least 72 hours. In the event of a major disaster, public safety resources are overwhelmed. It may be several days before help arrives.

Steps You and Your Neighbors Can Take

There are several steps that you can take now, as a San Carlos Neighbor, to be better prepared during an emergency incident:

• Organize your local area into a Neighborhood Group. Your geographical boundary should be no more than 2-3 blocks or 50 or so houses.
• Contact Heidi Morrison, Police Service Technician who acts as our Neighborhood Group Liaison. She can help you facilitate the formation of your group.
• Get your group and/or yourself prepared for any potential disaster. Both American Red Cross and From the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (www.Ready.Gov) have excellent disaster preparation information on their web sites.
