What is the Parks and Recreation Commission?The Parks and Recreation Commission has five members who meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. The committee acts in an advisory capacity to the San Carlos City Council in policy matters pertaining to the development of parks and the formulation of recreation programs.

What is the Economic Development Advisory Commission?The Economic Development Advisory Commission has 18 members and meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. (Subcommittee meetings are held throughout the month), to review matters related to economic development, redevelopment, and housing (city-wide) strategies that the Redevelopment Agency directs to them.

What is the History, Arts and Science Commission?The History, Arts and Science Commission has five members and meets at 5 p.m. the first Monday of the month during January, March, May, September and November. The commission advises the city council on matters affecting the historical, artistic, and/or scientific affairs of the San Carlos and its environs.

What is the Traffic Commission?The Traffic Commission has five members. It meets as needed and makes recommendations to the city council on matters pertaining to traffic-related capital improvement projects, traffic-related complaints from residents, and reviews ways for improving traffic conditions in the city.

What is the Senior Citizens Center Advisory Board?The Senior Citizens Center Advisory Board has five members and meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. This board makes recommendations to the city council on matters pertaining to activities at the Senior Center.

What is the Youth Advisory Council?The Youth Advisory Council has nine members. This council meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in an advisory capacity to the city council in matters pertaining to the youth and teen population, especially as related to the San Carlos Youth Center.

What is the Planning Commission?The Planning Commission has five members and meets at 8 p.m. the first and third Monday of the month. The commission reviews and takes action on General Plan amendments, zoning and subdivision ordinance amendments, planning applications, neighborhood and specific area plans.

What is the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee?The Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee shall advise and recommend policies for the planning, development and maintenance of pedestrian and bikeway systems for safe and enjoyable circulation for utilitarian commuting travel, travel to and from schools, and for recreation within the City of San Carlos. The Committee consists of four at-large bicyclists and/or pedestrians who either live or work in San Carlos; 1 representative each from the City's Traffic and Transportation Commission, School District, Parks and Recreation Commission and Youth Advisory Committee.

What is the Musuem of San Carlos History Board?Museum of San Carlos History Board of Directors are responsible for all museum operations, including hours available to the public, types of public use (events, etc.), display of historical items and memorbilia, acceptance of items (permanent or on loan) and cataloguing items in inventory. Two members of the Board of Directors are appointed by the San Carlos City Council.
