Mayor Randy Royce has lived in San Carlos for over 30 years. His wife, Yvette, is currently the librarian at Heather Elementary School and their two sons are newly employed after recently graduating from college.
Mayor Royce previously chaired the San Carlos Planning Commission and the San Carlos Residential Design Review Committee and served as president of the Sister Cities Association. He sits on the Cañada College Presidential Advisory Committee and the Tahoe Tyrol Homeowners Association board. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and recently participated in the Chamber's May'07 volunteer work group that traveled to Pass Christian, MS, to rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. During his earliest years in San Carlos, Mayor Royce coached soccer and served on the San Carlos Arts & Culture Commission and the Economic Development Advisory Committee. He is a long-term volunteer with the Summer Concert Series in Burton Park, San Carlos Museum and Hometown Days.
Mayor Royce has a finance education from the Uniiversity of San Francisco and a Master's degree in Business Administration from University of Southern California. He is retired from Hewlett Packard after a 23-year career. During his last four years at HP/Agilent, he was acting Chief Financial Officer of three Silicon Valley start-ups where he provided leadership and financial consulting, as well as communication with management, the board of directors and investors.
Mayor Royce's personal interests include photography/Photoshop, San Carlos history, woodworking, travel, long walks with Mia (his lab), skiing & golf.
