The City of San Carlos has introduced a new City Coin to be used for purposes of official recognition.  It shall be given to exceptional visitors and honored citizens upon noteworthy events, circumstances of great importance and merit.  The coin may signify an opportune occasion for meritorious service, a job well done, a visit from a dignitary, a thank you or as congratulations.  It will be a unique gift that will serve as both a reminder of gratitude and a meaningful memento.  The City Coin will be a vehicle for preserving and enhancing the distinct character of the City of San Carlos.

The coin itself is comprised of two sides: the front depicts a two-tone modified version of the original City Seal and the back highlights the City's brand logo encased in a laurel leaf design.
