City Council Strategic Goals and Objectives: March 2008 to September 2008

Background On Monday, February 13, 2006, the City Council, City Clerk, City Treasurer and the City Department Heads met at the San Carlos Library Conference Room in a Strategic Planning Retreat. Subsequent retreats were held every six months later to update these Goals and Objectives as well as establish Core Values for the City. Here's a look at the Mission Statement, Three Year Strategic Goals and Strategic Objectives set by the group at the most recent Strategic Plan Retreat held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008: Mission Statement The City of San Carlos provides high quality services and facilities in a fiscally sustainable, responsive and friendly manner to foster a safe and healthy community. Vision Statement By 2012, the City of San Carlos will be a vibrant and thriving home to and destination for individuals, families and businesses. Core Values

3 Year Strategic Goals (2006-2009) Increase Economic Development and Sources of Revenue to maintain and enhance public services Update the General Plan and the Zoning Code Maintain and enhance public safety Maintain and enhance the infrastructure Plan for and implement long-term financial sustainability
6 Month Strategic Objectives (March 18, 2008 - September 1, 2008) As noted above, the strategic objectives are a set of three to five tasks under each of the City's Three Year Strategic Goals that bring the City closer to achieving these goals. Here is a listing of these goals along with when they are slated for completion, who will take the lead on each objective and a description of each objective.
