Biography
Andy Klein was elected to the San Carlos City Council on November 3, 2009. He has been a life long resident of San Carlos, attending the local public schools in San Carlos and returning home to San Carlos after graduating from college.  

Mr. Klein served as the Chair of the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC).  During his time as Chair, the committee crafted the award-winning General Plan 2030 which will move San Carlos into the future and still protect those characteristics that are vital to all of residents and businesses in San Carlos. 
 
Mr. Klein currently serves as Vice President of the San Carlos Villagers, a Healthy Cities Tutor, and a member of both the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of San Carlos.

Mr. Klein's priorities for San Carlos include protecting our city Youth and Senior programs.  He also plans to push for more "green" standards, economic development, a balanced budget, and transparent government with an emphasis on public input. 

He was unanimously appointed Mayor on June 13, 2011 by the City Council, following the untimely death of Mayor Omar Ahmad.
