HIP Housing is a non-profit organization that provides a place to call home to persons in San Mateo County.

Below is a partial list of shared housing opportunities available through the Home Sharing Program as of May 2013:

Belmont: One furnished room for rent in a 2BR/1BA home. Service exchange involving cooking, laundry, driving and light cleaning & errands. Housemate must be willing and able to be home in the evenings. Laundry available, no pets, no smoking. Located in a quiet neighborhood, views from most of the home, small, cozy bedroom in a clean quiet home.

Daly City: One furnished or unfurnished room for rent in a 5BR/2BA home. $650/mo and a $300 deposit. Street parking available and close to public transit. No pets/smoking. Max 1. Home is close to SF Muni, BART.

East Palo Alto: Furnished or unfurnished room for rent in a 2BR/1BA home. $500/mo, $300 deposit and a light service exchange. Service exchange includes companionship and being home at night. 3 small dogs in the home but cannot accept more pets. Outside smoking is ok. Street parking available. Max 1 person.

El Granada: One furnished or unfurnished room for rent in a 2BR/2BA home. $300/mo, $400 deposit and a service exchange which includes cooking, cleaning, laundry and companionship. Garage parking, storage space, private bath and laundry available. No pets/smoking. Max 1. Located across from surfers beach in El Granada, balcony overlooking ocean, bedroom on balcony side, peaceful, safe.

Foster City: One unfurnished room for rent in a 3BR/2BA Condo. $850/mo, $400 deposit plus utilities. Only 5 minutes away from Bridge Point shopping center, highway 92 and highway 101. Private bathroom, off street parking and laundry available. No smoking/pets. Max 1.

Millbrae: One furnished room for rent in a 2BR/1BA Duplex. $750/mo and a $250 deposit. Off the street parking and wheel chair accessible. No Pets. Smoking is ok. Max 1. Storage space and laundry available.

Pacifica: Two furnished or unfurnished rooms available in a 3BR/1BA home. Two cats and a dog in the home, one more pet will be accepted. $650/mo with a $500 deposit plus some gardening and yard work as a service exchange required. Laundry available, public transit located near by and off the street parking available. Smoking outside is ok. Max 1.

Redwood City: Furnished or unfurnished room with a private bath in a 2BR/2BA Condo. $200/mo, $200 deposit and a service exchange which includes being home at night, running errands and taking out the trash. Small dogs are ok. Max 1 person. Laundry, storage space and public transit available. No smoking.

San Bruno: One unfurnished room for rent in a 4BR/2BA home, $625/mo and a $200 deposit. Max 1 person. Outside smoking only. Street parking available. Locate near public transit.

San Mateo: One furnished room for rent in a 3BR/2BA home. $600/mo, a $300 deposit and shared utilities. Laundry, street parking and public transit available. Max 1. Smoking outside only. Located near 101 and 92.

S. San Francisco: One furnished room for rent in a 2BR/1BA home. $650/mo, a $650 deposit and shared utilities. Laundry, street parking and public transit available. Max 1. Smoking outside only. 2 small dogs in the home but will not accept more.
