The information was available during a meeting of the California High Speed Rail Authority Board to be held in San Jose. Copies of the analysis are now available on the Internet (see links below).
Meeting Agenda and Details The Peninsula Rail Program and the High Speed Rail Authority invited interested parties to join them at the California High Speed Rail Authority Board Meeting on April 8, 2010 in San Jose. The Authority held the meeting locally so that interested parties on the Peninsula could hear the first public presentation of the Preliminary Alternatives Analysis Report on the San Francisco to San Jose corridor.
This presentation will begin a series of meetings designed to gather input from cities and communities on the project alternatives. Click the link below to view the meeting agenda and the Preliminary Alternatives Analysis Report for the San Francisco to San Jose Project Segment:
High Speed Rail Workshop in San Carlos - April 22nd The City of San Carlos is working with the Peninsula Rail Program and High Speed Rail project staff members to arrange for a briefing on the Alternatives Analysis to be held in San Carlos on April 22nd. More details on that meeting will be announced shortly.
After the High Speed Rail Workshop is held, the City Staff is planning to develop another set of comments for submission to the Peninsula Rail Program and High Speed Rail. The draft comments will be prepared and then submitted to the City Council for their review and discussion at a future Council Meeting.
Providing Comments on the Preliminary Report - Not Limited to 45 Days The Peninsula Rail Program reports that due to the interest and feedback provided to date to the Authority on the Preliminary Alternatives Analysis Report, the comment period on the document has no pre-arranged end date.
Therefore, unlike an environmental impact report, comments on the Preliminary Alternatives Analysis will not be bound by a 45-day comment period. However, the Peninsula Rail Program staff notes that the earlier that comments are submitted the sooner they can be considered for analysis and review.
