Commission requested study meeting in October to discuss.

Without a quorum, the Commission postponed discussion.

New Business

a. Parks, Open Space, Buildings and Other Recreational Facilities Master Plan Focus Group Discussion

• Tom Johnstone, Parks and Recreation Commission, lead a needs assessment discussion for the Parks Master Plan.The goal is to identify a long range parks and facilities plan.
• During this time, meeting participants provided input and answered many focus group discussion questions.The San Carlos Children’s Theater highlighted some production challenges, including: locating facilities to put on plays (the local schools have been gracious in allowing the group to use their facilities), the inability to provide a theater experience for participants, scheduling conflicts.There is a need for a community theater.
• Commissioner Aydelott had to leave the meeting after this discussion.

b.Appointment of Representative and Alternate to the General Plan Update Committee

• Commissioner Aguirre expressed an interest to serve on the Committee.
• Commissioner Mahar excused herself from serving on the Committee.
• Without a quorum, the Commission postponed appointing representatives.

c. Election of officers

Without a quorum, the Commission postponed electing officers.

San Carlos Museum – Ice cream social, Arts and Antiquities event

Week of the Family – No report (this is a vacancy)
