The City of San Carlos, Arts and Culture Commission is proud to host the annual Arts and Culture Achievement Award to honor special people who are actively involved in promoting and enhancing artistic and cultural contributions withinthe City of San Carlos.
The Arts and Culture Achievement Award honors an individual or organization, possessing the highest standards of motivation, service and by example have made a marked impact on the artistic or cultural components of our community.
Community members are invited to nominate those people who have significantly contributed to enhancing the creative and/or artistic aspects of life within the San Carlos community within the past year, or over the span of several years including the past year.
Individuals may nominate more than one person for this award, however, each nomination requires a separate nomination form. Nominees must live in the City of San Carlos and their contribution must be readily identifiable in the community.A five member committee will review the nominations and select a recipient for the award recognition.
Past recipients of the San Carlos Arts and Culture Award include Dulcie Morrison (2000) for her work promoting children’s art, Monica Mclean Anderson for her work with the San Carlos Children’s Theater and Sadie Conboy for her work with the San Carlos Museum of History.
Award recipients will be announced at the December 9th Tree Lighting Event in City Hall Park.
Award Nomination Schedule:
- Friday, November 7, 5:00PM- Nomination deadline.All Nominations must be postmarked by this date or received in the San Carlos Parks and Recreation office at City Hall, 600 Elm Street, San Carlos.
- By November 21, 2008- Award winner will be selected, notified and announced
- Tuesday, December 9, 2008- Award winner will be announced at the Tree Lighting Event
