Approval of Minutes a) Approval of minutes: May 16, 2005 Planning Commission Minutes
M/S Iwasa/Phillips to approve the May 16, 2005 minutes with minor changes. Motion passed 4:0 (Commissioner Divney excused) Public Comment 4. Public Comment None Public Hearing 5. Public Hearing a) Public hearing for the purpose of hearing and considering all comments of all persons interested in or concerned with the application of Lisa Altieri of Sierra Pacific Recycling for a Conditional Use Permit pursuant to Chapter 18.66 of the San Carlos Municipal Code to allow a recycling facility with incidental outdoor storage at 501 Bragato Road (APN: 046 052 320). Staff made a presentation on this item and answered all questions from the Commissioners. Lisa Altieri, applicant, spoke in support of the proposal. Malia Langworthy representing San Mateo County RecycleWorks, spoke in support of the proposal. Marion Jaroszewski representing Delta Star, Inc spoke in opposition of the proposal. M/S Prehm/Iwasa to approve the application of Lisa Altieri of Sierra Pacific Recycling for a Conditional Use Permit pursuant to Chapter 18.66 of the San Carlos Municipal Code to allow a recycling facility with incidental outdoor storage at 501 Bragato Road. Motion passed 4:0 (Commissioner Divney excused.) b) Public hearing for the purpose of hearing and considering all comments of all persons interested in or concerned with a draft Ordinance of the City of San Carlos to revise the structure of Chapter 18.150 (Sign Ordinance) of the San Carlos Municipal Code pursuant to San Carlos Municipal Code Section 18.136 allowing for amendments of the zoning title. Staff made a presentation with minor changes on this item and answered all questions from the Commissioners. Commissioner Phillips recommended the addition of off-site signage for freeway visibility for select parcels. M/S Phillips/Iwasa to recommend City Council approval of the draft resolution as amended. Motion passed 4:0 (Commissioner Divney excused.) Reports, Correspondence and General Information 6. Reports, Correspondence and General Information a) Report on recent City Council actions None. b) Planning Commission comments or reports Commissioner Prehm was presented a gift basket from Staff and fellow Commissioners for his final Planning Commission meeting. c) Correspondence None. d) Planning Staff comments, reports and updates of current projects Planning Staff distributed the Planning Commission Newsletter.
