Approved Minutes

I. Meeting Called to Order

The meeting was called to order by Chair Shugart at 5:30 PM.

II. Consent Items

M/S Higgins/McClure to approve the minutes for the July 7, 2008 meeting.Motion passed 3-0.

III. Public Comment- None

IV. New Items

905 Rosewood Avenue (APN: 051-355-140)
Review of a proposed new 3,508 square foot two story residence.

Lisa Costa Sanders, Principal Planner, presented the item, noting the changes that have been made since the June 2, 2008 RDRC meeting.

Michael Fury, property owner, stated that he held a neighborhood outreach meeting to review the revised design with his neighbors.The primary concern expressed by neighbors related to the garage door.He indicated that the garage door would be stained as well as the front door.

Dan Biermann, designer, noted the changes that were made to the design of the new residence.

Committee members stated that the changes were an improvement and made the proposed home more compatible to the neighborhood.

M/S Higgins/Shugart to approve the new residence at 905 Rosewood as proposed based on the findings and subject to the conditions of approval listed in the staff report.Motion passed 3-0.

Committee member Shugart advised of the 10-day appeal period.

107 Acacia Court (APN: 045-312-090)
Review of a proposed 1,898 square foot first and second story addition to an existing two-story residence.

Gavin Moynahan, Planner I, presented the item noting the proposed addition is entirely to the rear of the existing two story residence.

Mike Lee, property owner, in response to a question regarding the paint color of the home stated that the addition will be painted to match the existing residence and that his neighbors helped vote on the existing paint color.

Rod Lacasia, designer, stated that the design takes advantage of the existing below grade space into usable space.

Committee members provided the applicant with various design suggestions but not as a condition of approval.These included discussions of various color options, placing a trellis above the garage doors and the potential to add more pronounced window casings to improve the front façade.

M/S Higgins/McClure to approve the addition as proposed at 107 Acacia Court based on the findings and subject to the conditions of approval listed in the staff report.Motion passed 3-0.

Committee member Shugart advised of the 10-day appeal period.
