Senior Advisory Board Minutes - April 4, 2007
San Carlos Adult Community Center San Carlos, CA 94070 The regular meeting of the San Carlos Senior Advisory Board was called to order at 9:10 AM by Board Chair Gerry Cristoni. 1. Roll Call Board Members present: Gerry Cristoni, Kim Alchimisti, and Dan Bellack
Board Members absent: Jack Fisher and Julie Becker Also present: Gerard Manuel, Recreation Supervisor 2. Changes to the Order of the Agenda None.3. Approval of Minutes Board member Bellack made the motion to approve the minutes with change noted of meeting February 7, 2007 and seconded by board member Kim Alchimisti. Motion carried 3:0. 4. 5. Unfinished Business 5a. Proposed Changes to Facility Room Uses: Supervisor Manuel is currently looking at potential facilitators to host the community meeting to discuss the proposed changes to facility room uses. Board Member Bellack will provide his contacts to Supervisor Manuel.Board members discussed the importance of finding a qualified facilitator and discussed the focus group process. 6. New Business 6a. Budget for FY 2007-08:Supervisor Manuel shared the budget challenges that are currently facing the city and potential reductions that are being considered for the AdultCommunity Center. Supervisor Manuel shared the following as the program priorities established for the ACC:Special Events and continuation of drop in programs. The Board discussed the budget and importance of “focusing resources” to continue the core programs. Superintendent Dillard fielded questions and further provided clarification on the budget process and the challenge of developing a “stable and sustainable” budget. 7. Board Reports

8a. Upcoming Events and Programs: Supervisor Manuel shared information on the following ACC events in April: - CHP Driver Safety Seminar in collaboration with Supervisor Tissier
- Jim Dunbar is presenting info on Iran at the ACC
- Volunteer Luncheon on April 20
- Healthy Lecture for the month Nutrition Talk
- “Road to Personal Wellness” to be offered in May – class in partnership with SequoiaHospital
- Amy Gorman is scheduled to be atthe ACC in June
- Working with Police Activity League for an intergenerational program in hosting a summer event, a barbecue at the ACC in the summer season
8b. February Event Recap Supervisor Manuel shared information on the following ACC events that occurred in February: - Supervisor Manuel shared that he hosted a local kindergarten class at the ACC for informational talk
- St. Charles performed a skit at the ACC during the Pancake Social in February
- Saturday Reviewhad an attendance of 40 in February and 50 in March
- March Crab Feed had an attendance of 155 and was successful
