The regular meeting of the San Carlos Senior Advisory Board was called to order at 9:10 AM by Board Chair Gerry Cristoni.

2. Changes to the Order of the Agenda
None.
3. Approval of Minutes
Board member Kim Alchimisti made the motion to approve the minutes of meeting January 3, 2007 and seconded by board member Julie Becker. Motion carried 3:0.

5. Unfinished Business
Proposed Changes to Facility Room Uses
Supervisor Manuel provided the following updates regarding the proposal:
oWaiting to identify facilitators for the community input meetings (Boardmember Bellack to provide list of resources);
oOnce a facilitator has been identified, the meeting will be marketed via the web, city TV, PSA in local media and

7. Board Reports
Input (Brainstorming): Advisory Board Member Alchimisti shared the following ideas for the center to consider:
Five Part Women’s Series (Lecture Series) covering transition topics such as “motherhood to empty nest”, health issues, fashion, and understanding limitations.
Suggested that the center internal areas be better lit during evening classes.Board member Alchimisti felt that the center was too dark.
Community Wide Bunko Roll-off Event.Advisory members Alchimisti and Becker to meet with Supervisor Manuel to discuss hosting a community event in the fall.
8. Staff Reports
a) Upcoming Events and Programs:
ACC is collaborating with Supervisor Tissier’s office on the “Older Traffic Safety Seminar” scheduled for April 5 from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
ACC is collaborating with the San Carlos Library and will be hosting artist, Amy Gorman, author of “Aging Artfully” in June.
ACC is collaborating with SequoiaHospital on a “Wellness Class” to be introduced to the community during the Spring Session.
Review at the Parkview Room, scheduled for Feb. 24, with featured entertainment, “The Highlighters” from Broadway by the Bay and a Preview of the Kiwanis Show in March.
Lecture Series planned for Spring Session will feature topics on Health.
ACC is implementing a weekend trip in May.
Super bowl Party was held on Feb. 4 and had 35 attended.The event was well received and the users had a great time.
b) January/February Event Recap
Supervisor Manuel shared that the Monday Lunch Program is on a good pace to have higher revenues than last year.
Public Comment
Bob Grassilli, San Carlos
Bob Grassilli updated the board that he will be serving as the Council Liaison to the Senior Advisory Board. Bob presented the board with his cards and encourage the board to open lines of communication regarding issues affecting the AdultCommunity Center.
Louise Della Magiore, Greenwood Drive, San Carlos
Louise asked if the ACC has a plan to market events via email. Louis feels this will be a good way to reach the community.Supervisor Manuel shared that the ACC is part of the “E-Notify” emails sent monthly to the community.Supervisor Manuel will review the possibility of starting an email marketing specific to the ACC.
