Venting Depending on the location of gas venting and weather patterns, there may be a smell of natural gas. PG&E wants to assure customers that this situation is safe. As part of our normal protocol, we have and will continue to notify the appropriate public safety agencies, businesses and residents of this work.
Notification PG&E is working to avoid the impacts that were experienced on the September 26th. Should PG&E experience delays as they did on September 26th, they will conduct additional proactive outreach. This will include utilizing SMC Alert to inform customers as well as sending out robo-calls to over 30,000 customers.
PG&E does not expect that many customers to be impacted by noise and odor, but they are acting out of an abundance of caution.
For More Information Safety is PG&E's top priority and while this is planned work, they encourage any resident who has questions or concerns about the smell of gas to call 24 hours a day at 1-800-743-5000 or call 9-1-1 immediately.
