Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration - Highlands Park Lower Athletic Field - Conversion to a Synthetic Surface (proposed project)

Circulation, Comment Period & Preliminary Report - City Council Consideration - April 13, 2009

An Initial Study was prepared for the City of San Carlos to evaluate potential environmental effects of the Highlands Park Lower Athletic Field Conversion to a Synthetic Surface (proposed project). The Study found that while the project had the potential for significant environmental impacts, mitigation measures to reduce the potential impacts to a less-than-significant level have been identified which can be incorporated into the project. Therefore, the City has circulated a draft Mitigated Negative Declaration for public review and comment.

The comment period opened Monday February 9, 2009 closed on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.

Comments and responses to the comments received during the public comment period on the Mitigated Negative Declaration will be provided to the City Council for their consideration at the April 13, 2009 meeting of the City Council.

The City Council will hold a public meeting on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in City Hall located at 600 Elm Street in San Carlos to consider the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration.
