The Final Environmental Impact Report for the San Carlos Transit Village “Project” is immediately available.
The Project is a proposal for the development of an approximately 10.53 acre site owned by the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) and located adjacent to the San Carlos CalTrain Station within the Railroad Corridor approximately bounded by El Camino Real to the west, the Caltrain tracks to the east, Oak Street to the north, and Arroyo Avenue to the south, to include eight new buildings that would house 407,298 square feet of residential uses including 280 multiple-family dwelling units, 23,797 square feet of office uses, and 14,326 square feet of retail uses, underground and surface parking lots, a multi-modal transit center, public plaza, landscaping and retention of the Historic Depot.
San Carlos Transit Village
The San Carlos Transit Village Final Environmental Impact Report (SCH# 2008032045), July 2012 consists of public comments received on the December 2009 Draft Environmental Impact Report, written responses to the comments, and changes made to the December 2009 Draft Environmental Impact Report in response to the comments. The Final EIR includes, Introduction, List of Commentors, Master Responses, Written Comments and Responses, Oral Comments and Responses, Revisions to the Draft EIR and Appendices L-P (in addition to Appendices A-K in the Draft EIR).
The Final EIR and the December 2009 Draft Environmental Impact Report may also be viewed at the San Carlos Library, 610 Elm Street, San Carlos and at the counter in San Carlos City Hall, 600 Elm Street, San Carlos.
The San Carlos Planning Commission will hold a public meeting on July 30, 2012 for the purpose of receiving a presentation on the Final EIR for the Project from staff and consultants, for inquiry and discussion and for public comment. A Public Hearing will be held October 1, 2012. Meetings will be conducted in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 600 Elm Street, San Carlos, at 7:00 p.m.
