Pilot Program for Dogs Off-Leash

A six-month pilot program began on February 1, 2012 that allows off-leash dogs at restricted areas in Burton and Highlands parks.  The designated areas are Burton Park Flanagan Field (east side) and Highlands Park Stadium Field (north end).

The Parks & Recreation Commission directed staff to have the pilot program reviewed at each Parks & Recreation Commission meeting throughout the six month trial period and reserved the right to end the program prior to the end of the trial period.   (The Parks & Recreation Commission meets on the first Wednesday of even months.  The next meeting is scheduled for April 4, 2012).
