Here's a quick update on the Capital Projects that are now underway in Public Works:

• Sewer Rehabilitation – The construction was completed last week and was ahead of schedule.  The construction concluded with about 5,300 linear feet of sewer main and 750 linear feet of sewer lateral replaced, and 95 cleanout with back flow preventers installed.   There was no major interruption of service during the entire period of construction and all concerns from the homeowners were addressed and completed within two weeks of initial reporting.  DPW is generating a punch list for the contraction and it is anticipated that the repair work will be completed by end of this month.

• Crestview Drive Resurfacing - Due to the high demand of the colored plastic mat for curb ramps, it was back-ordered.  The colored plastic mat, which has “truncated domes” to warn those with visual impairments that they are about to enter the street, is required under the American Disability Act and is included in the project.  The contractor is anticipated to receive the plastic mats shortly and planned to start construction on the curb ramps the week of July 19^th or sooner.  The street pavement construction will start about two weeks after the sidewalk construction has been started.
