Public Works - Engineering/Administration Division

Mission Statement

The Public Works Department is responsible for the design, construction, contract administration and overall maintenance and operation of the City's infrastructures.  Its organization is comprised of two areas:

• Administration/Engineering
• Maintenance (Wastewater) 

The Public Works Director, along with the Parks & Recreation Director, shares departmental direction of General Servcies (General Services performs functions that support the mission of both departments).

This includes maintenance of the storm drain, sewer, street, traffic signals and signing and City vehicles. Public Works also handles the City's civil engineering services including review, plan check and construction inspection of all subdivisions, review and approval of grading plans and inspections, plan check and construction inspection of all private and utility work in the public right of way and review of tree removal requests and permits.

When the Public Works Department has a major project or makes a major equipment purchase, a bid notice is issued by the City Clerk's Department and a formal bid process is conducted.  Please review the link below for more information.
