The YAC organizes and conducts several categories of activities and programs for the Youth of San Carlos.

Some of the activities are: dances, all-night parties (lock-ins), field trips (skiing, rafting,beach) Intergenerational Chess Match, holiday parties, City tree-lighting ceremony, Halloween Haunt/Haunted House, city-wide festivals, concert series, bulletin boards, parent recognition luncheons, and Teen Hotline Support.

Some of the Council programs are: surveys, research projects, teen conferences, Networking Councils, Youth Center Foundation, Healthy Youth/Healthy Family, San Mateo County Youth Commission, Commissions Information, Council Donation/Gift giving, City newsletter/media committee, skate park formulation, members recruitment, retreats, Outstanding Youth Awards, Jobs for Teens, Police Ride-alongs, Police/YAC Curfew Ordinance, Team-building/Communications Workshops.
