What are we?

The Youth Advisory Council, also known as YAC, is comprised of all volunteer Middle School and High School group of students that is appointed by the San Carlos City Council. It is an all volunteer advisory and activity council to the San Carlos City Council.  Their role is to advise the Parks and Recreation Department and the Youth Center staff on activities, events and programs that will address the needs of San Carlos students.

The YAC strengthens the image of community for our young people in San Carlos.  We promote health and wellness in conducting workshops on teen issues and advise the City Council on youth related programs.  We foster human develoopment by offering activities and events suggested by youth, for youth.  The YAC does volunteer work through the community.  The YAC helped fundraise and build the San Carlos Youth Center and continue to recommend ideas for ongoing programs and operations. 

When do we meet?

Youth Advisory Council meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Youth Center from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  The following are meeting dates:
