Ross has posted signing on the Levitz building of their upcoming arrival. Also under construction is the accessory building at the front of the San Carlos Marketplace. While the full tenant line-up has not been publicly announced, we have noted that both Chipotle Mexican Grill and Wing Stop now have signing on the building under construction. Police Sergeant Rich Dickerson Retires After 27 Years of Service to the City

Sergeant Rich Dickerson has retired after 27 years of service to the San Carlos community. Rich is one of the few people who can say that they have done just about everything there is to do in police work.  He started with the Police Department as a Dispatcher, worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Traffic Officer (motorcycle), Detective and Sergeant, concluding his career as Sergeant in charge of Detectives.  Rich’s experience will be greatly missed.  We wish the best of luck to Rich!

New Operator for San Carlos Wireless Pilot

Earlier this week, it was announced that Covad Communications has joined the vendor team that is working on the Wireless Silicon Valley project.  The vendor team still plans to do some pre-project pilot tests.  The first of these tests will be held in San Carlos later this year.  Once the design work has been completed, we expect the vendor team to come in and apply for their permits to install and test the wireless radios in San Carlos.

Tiny Town Story Leads to Museum Donations

June Chichizola reports that our recent Today In San Carlos story on Tiny Town in San Carlos “produced a wonder!” Local history buff John Shroyer bought 14 negatives (for $35) on eBay of Tiny Town located (he thought) in San Carlos. He brought them to the Museum of San Carlos History on Laurel Street along with a “Super 8” movie of a Tiny Town birthday which is being transferring to DVD. All of these items will be put on display at the Museum of San Carlos History soon.
