Community Meeting

Wheeler Plaza Development Concept
Your input is needed on the potential for Wheeler Plaza redevelopment

When: May 4, 2011

Where: Community Meeting Rooms, San Carlos Library, Second Floor, 610 Elm Street
Time: 7:00 PM

The City of San Carlos has been working with developer Silverstone Communities to explore the potential for redevelopment of the downtown surface parking lot known as Wheeler Plaza.  This parking lot is located behind Laurel Street and San Carlos Avenue and it fronts on Walnut Street. Several city owned buildings located along San Carlos Avenue and Laurel Street would also be included in the site area.

New development could include additional residential units for downtown living, new and improved retail space, and public amenities such as a gathering space and additional downtown parking – designed to enhance and enliven the downtown. At a minimum, any redevelopment would replace all of the existing public parking.

This meeting will be an opportunity to brief property and business owners, community leaders, neighbors and interested citizens on the project and to hear and understand the issues and concerns of various stakeholders.

Please add your voice to this public process by participating in a community-wide forum on the potential for redeveloping this prime downtown site.
