PG&E Work on Brittan Avenue
PG&E is replacing 1,500 feet of distribution main on the south side of Brittan Avenue between Alameda and Cordilleras. This is not to be confused with natural gas transmission line 147 on the north side of Brittan, which was worked on a couple years ago.
During routine inspections, it was determined that this section of pipe needed to be replaced sooner rather than later. The work being done now is to install the gas service main. Once the main is installed, pressurized and tested, PG&E will then transfer the service lines from the old main to the new main. Impacted residents will be notified, via door hanger, that their gas services have been shut off and that PG&E staff will be available to re-light any pilot lights that are off.
